Team Development at Atkins Global

Over the summer months Akenham have been working with Atkins Global on facilitating a number of events to promote collaboration between the UK offices.

The workshops were designed around Social Network theory and practice to improve communication and knowledge transfer. Through a number of indoor and outdoor activities we were also able to demonstrated that the communication medium selected (face to face, email etc.) should be chosen against the task at hand, the reason for the communication (decision making, problem solving, relationship management etc), the distance between contacts and the frequency of contact.

The feedback was very encouraging, delegates feeling that the workshops enhanced their skills in the areas of goal setting, planning, collective decision making, leadership and relationship management. They felt that the workshops not only aided collaboration between the offices but provided them with a better understanding of team dynamics which would positively effect communication going forwards.
